103rd Derby Scouts and 1st Chellaston Guides

Beavers Cubs Scouts

Welcome to Chellaston Scout Hut – home of 103rd Derby (Chellaston) Scout group, and 1st Chellaston Guides.

At 103rd Derby (Chellaston) Scout group we offer fun, friendship and adventure in a safe environment, for young people between the ages of 6 and 14 years old, in line with the purpose of Scouting:

“Scouting exists to actively encourage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.”

Scouting is a totally inclusive organisation, welcoming both boys and girls from all parts of society.  All members of the Scout movement seek to practice equality, especially in promoting access to Scouting for young people from all religious, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

The Scout Association opposes all forms of discrimination.

This Scout group is run wholly by volunteers, who freely give their time for the benefit of the young people of Chellaston.  If you feel you could offer any help, as a leader, occasional helper, an executive committee member (dealing with the day to day running and maintenance of the hut) or with any aspect of our work, please contact us through the links on this website.

A note from the Chair of our Executive Committee

Dear parents

You are cordially invited to the Annual General Meeting of the Scout Group Committee on Thursday 9th July 2015 7pm to 8.30pm

It is a requirement for the charity that we hold a general meeting to dissolve the current committee and elect a new one.

We try to make the evening enjoyable, and social.  All parents and siblings are welcome, there will be a BBQ, refreshments and a few stalls/games, so bring some money!

You will get to find out a bit about what the committee and sections have been up to, meet other parents and the leaders of the other sections.

We would really appreciate any donations of wine, chocolate or tombola prizes, prior to the night if possible. Also we would be very grateful for some cakes for our refreshment stall on the night.

Our committee is dwindling, and most of us will no longer have a child in the scout movement in September.  We really do need some new members, the role of minute secretary needs filling, and there is plenty to do to help generally with stamp & deliver, hut bookings/maintenance, web site, fundraising etc.

Please do get in touch if you could help in any way!

I look forward to seeing you on the night,

Lucy Tuckwood
