On the 26th of May we met at Drum Hill to participate in Spring Bank Camp 2023 (dinosaur theme) for 3 nights where there were 30 different activities and multiple challenges to do.
Activities
My favourite activity to do was rock climbing because I enjoyed the challenge to make it to the top. I also enjoyed many of the other activities and trying something new like foil fencing and air rifle shooting and I was pleased how well I had done with this because I got quite a lot of the shots in the black circle and very close to the centre of the target.
Evening Activities
My favourite evening activity was Ben’s disco because we were all singing, dancing and having a lot of fun as a group.
Sleeping Arrangements
We all slept in tents of 2 or 3 people and we picked who we stayed in the tent with. This was how the tents were set up so we could spend time in the middle of the pitch, at Ben’s disco and playing games like rounders with a mini Peppa Pig teddy, a water bottle and camping chairs.
Food
The leaders cooked our food while we were busy doing activities. My favourite food on camp was the beef burgers. In the evening you got hot chocolate and a biscuit just before bed.
Challenge
The main challenge for the event was a dinosaur quiz where there was a map and you had to go and find each number around Drum Hill and there was a dinosaur multiple choice quiz question and you had to circle the letter you thought it was.
It was a great weekend. The leaders looked after us well.
